On July 15, 2007 thirty-nine members of the North Boone Co-Active Ministry departed for Washington, D.C.   After learning to persevere through vehicle breakdowns, we finally all made it to our home base at the Washington Seminar Center, located 2 blocks from the United States Capitol and the National Mall.  Each day began and ended with devotions led by different team members.  Work projects were arranged with the pastors of Douglas Memorial UMC, Casa del Pueblo UMC and Brightwood Park UMC, all located in Washington D.C. within a 5 mile radius.  Projects included painting a sanctuary, repairing a floor, painting a cross over graffiti,   remodeling a sagging porch into a sturdy deck, repairing a stage, re-wiring lighting in a pastor's office, among others.  The mission team members used free time in small groups for sight-seeing of historical monuments, museums, the zoo and shops.  So much good work was accomplished, and everyone felt truly blessed to have participated.  Thanks to everyone who made this mission trip possible through their donations and prayers.
