Nurture Ministries at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church
Poplar Grove UMC was recently awarded $5100 from
the Martin Keagy Fund* to begin a Stephen Ministry.

Danice and Lisa are currently conducting an 18 week training session for those who have been selected to serve as Stephen Ministers.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2
*The Martin Keagy Fund supports ministries in rural parishes by issuing grants to local churches and ministries. The goals of the grant are:
to enhance existing ministries,
to develop new ministries in response to the changing rural environment,
to enable and enhance a vision of or rural ministry and the quality of life founded upon a direct relationship to the land and it’s resources which is God’s creation.
The Fund encourages creative responses to ever changing needs, resources, visions, and opportunities among the people of God who live on the land and who provide the food needed to sustain life.
